With operations in Hardisty and Red Deer, Alberta, GCS Energy Services Ltd. is supported by an accomplished group of qualified individuals that make up our management team. It’s no surprise that successful project execution starts with strong leadership at every level.

Greg Schmidt -President
With over 20 years’ experience as Founder and Principal of GCS Energy Services Ltd. Greg worked towards his teenage vision of building and expanding the diverse company GCS is today. Greg shares his success with his team of dedicated management and employees, always looking to the future with a big picture rationale. With the rising demand to provide clients with a dynamic range of quality services and the capacity to complete any size of project, Greg saw an opportunity to invest in NLS Welding & Contracting Inc. and is excited to join these two companies together to provide a diverse offering of services while both businesses continue to grow and flourish.
Jennifer Silva
Heavy Equipment Sales & Rentals
Jennifer studied sociology and psychology before her start in the oil and gas sector, and those skills have helped her foster important business relationships in her equipment sales and rentals role. She has been a part of this industry for over 27 years and uses her networking skills to create lasting clientele.
Kevin Sandquist
Chief Financial Officer
Combined with a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) and Bachelor of Commerce degrees, GCS welcomed Kevin in 2016, bringing with him 23 years’ experience in oilfield services and finance.
Max Devey
Operations Manager Hardisty
Max has been involved with this industry for over 23 years. As a Class 1 Operator and Pipefitter, he led his truck and crew around Western Canada before taking on the role of Manager for Greg’s Contracting Services Ltd. in 2004; dispatching, hiring, and maintaining equipment, shop, and yard. In 2007, Max added the gravel crushers to his resume and continues to manage the operations of both crushers and the numerous gravel pits around Alberta.
Randi Fuder, CRSP
EH&S Director
In 2002, Randi was hired as a labourer and quickly gained experience, moving into operating equipment before she discovered her interest in safety. She completed her NCSO certification working full time as a field safety rep and in 2007, was promoted to EH&S Director. Randi has completed her OHS certification through the University of New Brunswick and in 2017 gained her certification as a Canadian Registered Safety Professional.
Scott Rogers
Vice President of Construction
With a design and drafting background from NAIT, a Gold Seal General Superintendent with welding background, and over 23 years’ industry experience, Scott joined GCS in 2005 as a General Superintendent of civil, mechanical, and electrical work; and has been a part of GCS’ growth since, overseeing all aspects of construction.
Trevor Bitzer
Senior Vice President
Trevor holds a degree in Business Administration from NAIT and has been a pivotal component of GCS’ success since its inception. He has had the privilege of witnessing many milestones and key turning points along the way, helping keep the business on track and the growth managed.
