From Greg’s Desk….
What a gorgeous spring we have been having; record temperatures, great working conditions, little to no mud and so far, not much for mosquitoes and bugs either. Thankfully, over the last week we have got some much needed rain and cooler temperatures to help with the fires that are raging across Alberta. Unfortunately, our crews had to be evacuated from the Lynton Station just south of Fort Mac but we look forward to getting the green light so we can return and get back to work.
Bitzy and crew are busy installing water and sewer lines for additional campsites at Hardisty Lake Park. Our Crushers are busy with some contracts to fill. Virden keeps finding odds and ends and some fairly steady maintenance and Eldon’s crew keeps busy around Hardisty with odd jobs on a regular basis.
I wish it was busier and we had twice as much work as we do, but these economic times have unfortunately hit us hard like everyone else in Alberta. In Red Deer, we will continue to bid and look for any work we can possibly find to keep us busy through the spring and summer months but right now it looks like this summer is going to be a slow one. I am hoping that the fall comes around with stronger oil prices and along with those stronger oil prices, some projects that finally get kicked off.
Enjoy the weather. Put your sunblock on. Drink LOTS of water. Do your task cards. Do your job safely and be happy you are working!
