Electrical Division created due to growing industry demands; larger projects awarded; Greg’s Contracting Services Ltd. changes its name to GCS Energy Services Ltd. to reflect expansion.

2007

Buys First Crusher

Greg’s Contracting Services Ltd. buys its first crusher. First large project awarded; Enbridge Hardisty Merchant Tankage Project started; rental and sales division grows to over over 300 pieces of heavy equipment.

2005

Red Deer Office Opens

Red Deer office opens; approximately 45 employees; growth to Fort McMurray and other parts of Alberta.

1995

Hires Employees

Larger projects begin in the local area. Greg hires five new employees, and ten pieces of equipment are in  operation.

1994

Greg Gets His Start

A 19 year-old Greg Schmidt opens Greg’s Contracting Services Ltd. in his hometown of Hardisty AB, starting with small landscape projects, and three pieces of equipment.
