This is an employee based program to encourage employee involvement and ownership of the GCS Health and Safety program, facilitating growth and development within GCS. Gold Hand Mentorship gives GCS management an opportunity to recognize employees who want to succeed and show initiative.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Experienced workers who agree to participate are given GCS Gold Mentor stickers to wear on their hard hats, making them immediately recognizable as individuals to whom new/green employees can turn to for guidance.
In order to obtain this ranking, these individuals should be thoroughly knowledgeable about the GCS safety program, have site experience, and be active mentors.
Some of the ways we commit to protecting our valuable resources include:
All personnel have the responsibility of supporting and assisting the GCS Energy safety program. Workers shall take all necessary precautions for the safety of themselves, fellow worker, company property, and the general public. It is the company's belief that all accidents and injuries are preventable with the proper planning and safety precautions. Our aim is to have an incident free workplace. Doing work without proper planning is unacceptable. No job is so urgent that it cannot be done without proper care and attention.
My name is Sam and I'm a Pembina Safety rep in Fox Creek for the tank farm construction. I worked closely with Morgan Hodder, Shane Brown and the whole GCS crew. I just wanted to take two minutes of your time to let you know how happy we were with GCS performance out here; professionalism, good work ethic, and most importantly—the safety side of things.
